People will trade

Regardless of whether the economy starts up again sooner or later, people will trade and bargain for what they want and need.

 During this transition period where people are waking up to long buried desires we will also discover new talents.

I am amused every day to hear smoke alarms going off around the building as people re-discover their kitchens and cooking.

So too with our abilities to trade and negotiate for ourselves amongst ourselves and as groups. Money is not the basis of the economy, trade is.
