The Tree of Life

What is referred to as “The Tree of Life” in Mystery School traditions is a concept borrowed from the Jewish mystical tradition. The book ”Exodus” in the Old Testament is a record of the Jewish people’s liberation from Pharaoh’s oppressive rule. This story was codified to contain the teachings of the Tree of Life (Kabbalah in the Jewish tradition) - how to ascend from earthly oppression to communion with God. This is the Map of our evolution in consciousness from wherever we are now to higher states. From oppression to the land of milk and honey.

What a Mystery School offers is initiation into the teachings contained within the Tree of Life. Different than studying knowledge you actually participate in it. As you are initiated into each Sephiroth you are welcomed into the archetypal and your world re-arranges to give you first hand experiences of the concepts.

Just like the Jewish people’s journey out of Egypt they were promised they would be keepers of this knowledge and they became keepers of this knowledge because they lived it. That is the story of Exodus. And in the present day world this knowledge is still passed on through direct experience, thus the necessity of initiation.
